I've had the pleasure of meeting many interesting people during my time as sponsor of Wimborne Town FC, but Chris Brown, Town Crier for Wimborne has to be one of the most interesting. Chris introduced me to the Flag for Dorset Campaign, which is hoping to introduce a county flag based on the Cross of St Wite.
St Wite was a Saxon martyr whose remains lie in the church at Whitchurch Canonicorum. These, apart from that of Saint Edward the Confessor in Westminster Abbey are the only surviving, intact relics to survive the reformation in the whole of England.
